Redbridge Council

Cycle Liaison Group

The Council's Cycle Liaison Group (CLG) was set up to provide a forum for local cyclists, council officers and councillors. The group meets twice a year and acts as an advisory group for the council. The CLG deals with all aspects of cycling - from policy to priorities to implementation - and monitors the progress of new cycle-related works and activities, whether these are provision of parking, cycle routes, training. The CLG also arrange rides around the borough to enable all CLG members to see what cycle facilities have been installed, planned or needed.

The LCC members of the committee are:

  • Chris Elliott
  • Richard Everett
  • Gill James
  • Jane Whyte
  • Haydn Powell
  • Peter Jolly

John Lewis represents the CTC. Contact details for CLG members are given on the Contacts page.

Area committees

As well as the CLG, LCC members can speak on cycling matters at their local Area Committee meetings. Area Committee meetings provide an effective route for getting both local cycling facilities installed - for example, cycle parking, and ensuring bigger projects are dealt with consistently. Details of forthcoming Area Committee meetings can be found on the council's website - details in the Web resources page of this site.
